The two Drumochter legs were the only part of the relay that went past with me having absolutely no idea what was happening. I was crashed out in the van at Newtonmore, barely even aware of the heat in the sun baked vehicle.

Ross must have enjoyed this leg over easy hills in good weather. I heard later that Sheila met him on one of the summits which must have been not just the high point of her trip, but one of the few highlights of her tour. Ross managed a very respectable time in the fine conditions.
