Katie Henderson - Last night and today brought some pretty challenging conditions with wind, rain and clag. A long tough shift made more challenging with no phone signal and variable tracker signals. Unfortunately I didn’t summon last weekends stunning panoramic photos. So you’ll have to deal with pics of us instead! The wonders of Knoydart 🤩

Sue Savege - Catching up today on some much needed sleep after 3 days in the wilderness that is Knoydart. Lost contact with civilisation once I drove down the road to Kinlochhourn at 4pm on Sunday and didn’t regain it till midday on Tuesday! Amazing to think that such wildernesses still exist in such a tiny island as ours. The evening walk in the Barrisdale Bothy was lovely with the rain clearing from the skies and the sun briefly showing its face.

Next day it was chocolate pudding for breakfast (fantastic) and up to Barrisdale Pass to meet Katie Henderson from her run over Ladher Bheinn around 8am. When there was still no sign of her midday I did start to wonder what to do. So ran all the way back down to B Bay managed to find a very helpful Estate game keeper called Fred who let me use his phone to call base and find out when she was last seen. Seems everything had been delayed by bad weather but she was on her way. 😀

So bit later than planned, Katie safe and warm, tracker handed over and back up the pass for me.

I can’t say that it was y a bit wild over Luinne Bheinn and Meall Bhuide but the wind had died a bit by then and I could occasionally see something. Great to get down to Sourlies and be reunited with the team.
