Sarah Dunn - In the middle of some quite dreadful conditions in Glen Etive yesterday we had our first failed rendezvous, when Hazel and myself somehow missed Katy, Susan & Lynn coming off the hill on a different strand of the boggy valley path. By the time we had managed to find each other it didn’t feel appropriate to head back up, but rather time for another pause to await the promise of improved conditions early this morning.

When my alarm went off at 3am I can honestly say the last thing my body wanted was to get up and climb some hills, but we had unfinished business in Glen Etive and a real need to get some momentum going again for the final push to Mull.

And it did feel like a long slow plod up onto Glas Bheinn Mhor. Thankfully though, the rain had stopped, there were occasional glimpses of blue sky and the gusting wind was only attacking us on exposed ridges. Bit by bit our bodies accepted what we were asking of them as we picked off our other two tops; Beinn Nan Aighenan & Ben Starav. This is a group of quite stunning mountains and the cloud cleared out enough to give some very dramatic views.

We really are on the home straight now 😃 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏔💪

Alison Cunningham - Had a really lovely day in the hills today with Fran. Approaching Sgurr na h-Ulaidh from Glen Etive we had great views but as we climbed up into the cloud to the summit a heavy rainstorm hit and we just thought ‘here we go again, at least it isn’t windy!!’ Then we crossed the col to climb Beinn Fhionnlaidh and the clouds lifted, as did our spirits, and we had amazing views to the Buchaille from day before, Starav from previous relay leg and out to Mull. No view of Ben More but we hope to make it there for the final Munro tomorrow 🤞.

Can’t believe this amazing challenge is nearly complete!
